Maxwell's is a Waxhaw fixture. The location and ambience are wonderful - right across from the railroad bridge! But what keeps me going back (from my home in Charlotte) are the hamburgers. They are consistently really good. This past trip after I had walked all over town, I sat at the bar and ordered the Carolina Burger with a Red Oak draft. The service by the bartender Chrissy was excellent. It made my day!

Their food is always up to par. Servers are experienced and friendly. Tomatoes are always crisp, bacon is the best quality, food is just fresh. Love their chili and BLTs. Bar area is great to hang for dinner or a drink with the three large screens above it. Can never go wrong eating there!

The service and food were excellent. Located right on Main Street near the "tracks". We were so hungry I did take photos but the Patty Melt and Quesadilla w/chicken were delicious. Nice old building and plenty of seating with TVs to keep up with the game but able to converse. Definitely recommend.

Maxwell's is one of our favorite restaurants when we visit Waxhaw! It's our "go to" restaurant when we have out of town company come to visit. The food and service are always great. Love the atmosphere!

Consistency is key and they are very consistent! Great food no matter what you get! I can literally eat this 3 or 4 times a week

Maxwells is a great little tavern with fantastic food and fast service! the workers are quick with their job and you get your food very quick, we got an appetizer of the bread with different butters and the cinnamon butter is fantastic! I definitely recommend that, the fries are fantastic they aren't mushy like some places, and their chicken sandwich was to die for - my boyfriend got the Ruben sandwhich and loved it! I definitely recommend, the only thing I'd say negatively about it is how small the inside is, seating can be very close together with another group depending on where you sit!

Everything was really A-OK, considering it was a tavern/sports bar. I liked their Beer selection and would definitely return if nearby.

This place rocks. The food is always on point and delicious. The menu has good choices like a patty melt for example. My wife always gets these amazing salads with steak. I always do either a patty melt or fish n chips. The fish n chips here are a tremendous hit. My stepson craves it all the time. The burgers here are excellent. I would like to say the best in Waxhaw. But that's my opinion and challenge me if you think not. Try them. They have a burger every month too. Very worth visiting. The bar can be a Hotspot. Bartenders are tip notch here. This place runs like a perfectly well oiled machine. We've done the drive up the rear which is always perfect and fast. The service here matches the foods quality and it shows as the place is always busy. Darren is a very good employee. He was awesome and hope we get him again.

Met a friend here as it was the only restaurant in the area with something "plain" enough on the menu that I could eat... and I was pleasantly surprised how they worked with my current restrictions... Gluten-free marinated grilled chicken, delicious green beans cooked in chicken stock & fresh steamed broccoli that was steamed to the perfect tenderness! The chicken was AMAZING. Full of flavor. The broccoli even had awesome flavor (I had 2 servings!) and the green beans, while they weren't very "green" anymore having soaked for so long in the chicken stock, they had a good flavor as well. The waiter was attentive, listened, was patient and served us very quickly. The tavern is in an old downtown building with awesome brick walls that's both cozy, modern, and ancient all at the same time. Overall this place is probably your healthiest option if you're on a restricted meal plan like I am... and it was delish!
